Fulfillment can, at times, be a headache for merchants. Customers are more demanding each day and their expectations are high. They want their orders delivered as fast as possible at the best possible price. Shipping costs can significantly affect one's conversion rate and is one of the critical areas of an online store where improvements can make a big difference.
“Shippo for Platforms serves as a way for the world’s largest e-commerce platforms to future proof their e-commerce strategy by powering shipping for their merchants while providing a unified in-platform experience. With embedded master accounts and bring-your-own-carrier functionality, platforms like Shopify can manage their global merchant infrastructure without compromising merchant experience or benefits.” Click here for the full press release
Shopify aims to leverage Shippo to offer customers a better shipping experience without leaving their online store backend.
The integration will provide stores access to a vast network of carriers across the globe. The rollout starts with select European countries first, with plans to expand to other territories soon after.
The new integration is made possible by new development by Shippo called Shippo for Platforms, which makes it possible for platforms to connect seamlessly through API. Shopify is the first partner launching with this new integration option.
Some of the benefits of using the new Shippo integration include:
- Prenogatied rates
- Integrated Billing
- Almost 100 regional and global carriers
- Compare Carrier Rates
- Address validation
- Scheduled Pickups
- Enhanced shipping experience
- Created Shipping Labels
- Track Shipments
- Branded Tracking Pages
- Batch Label Printing
- Customer Shipping Notifications
- Streamlined Returns
From Shopify's VP, Merchant Services:
“It goes without saying that, to succeed in commerce today, merchants must be able to get packages into the hands of their customers quickly and affordably,”
“Our partnership with Shippo allows our merchants to meet consumer expectations for convenience, speed, and cost without having to be a shipping expert themselves.”
